Its a very common problem and occurs when you install a new Windows Media Player skin by replacing "wmploc.dll" file in "System32" folder.
The cause of this error is due to the fact that the version of wmp.dll in the registry is out of sync with what is installed. The below steps should resolve the issue you’re encountering:
Option 2:
Uninstalling and Reinstalling ~Uninstalling~ the Windows Media Player:
Go to Start and in the search type Turn Windows features On or Off. Browse to the Media Features and Uncheck the mark in front of Windows Media Player.
