Chromium Microsoft Edge Browser to Feature a Native Translation Engine

Microsoft already testing the feature, it seems

The new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser is expected to get native translation that would allow the app to automatically translate websites in foreign languages.

As discovered by a number of Reddit users, Microsoft has quietly enabled a new feature in Edge Canary that brings a Microsoft Translator icon right to the address bar.

Whenever the browser loads a website that is in a different language than the one set on the system, Microsoft Edge can automatically translate it.

The feature works similarly to the translation engine in Google Chrome, and right now, it looks like Microsoft is just conducting an experiment with a limited number of devices.

There’s also a new option on these systems which allows the browser to “offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read.” This notification shows up when loading websites in a different language.

"Not available for everyone"

Clicking the address bar Microsoft Translator icon lets you choose the language to translate the website to, but also to “Always translate pages from” a specific language. Like in Google Chrome, you can toggle between the original website and the translated version.

For the time being, it seems the feature is only available in the Canary version of the new Microsoft Edge. This particular release receives updates every day, so there’s a high chance the translation option is still in its early development stages, albeit there’s no doubt that Microsoft would add it at a later time to the stable version of the browser too.

The feature is missing on my systems here at Softpedia running the most recent version of Microsoft Edge Canary (which at the time of writing this article is 75.0.125.0), so it could just take a little bit more time until the software giant enabled it for all users. In the meantime, translation extensions are also available in the Chrome Web Store should you need to translate pages to a different language.

Nokia 8.1 Plus receives TENAA certification The integrated fingerprint scanner is confirmed

Although last month it was reported that Nokia 8.1 Plus is the international version of the Nokia X71 (launched yesterday in Taiwan), we found out that phones actually have some differences in endowments. Thus, while the Chinese model brings a physical fingerprint scanner to the back, Nokia 8.1 Plus opts for a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen - an endowment confirmed today by the Chinese agency TENAA .

We notice the rear triple camera with the LED flash placed under the photo module and the fact that we receive a glass back panel. The Nokia logo is here, and a generous cut-out screen for the self-service camera is on the front. Unfortunately, the TENAA listing does not reveal the hardware of the device, so we only remain speculative. It remains to be seen if the Nokia 8.1 Plus will opt for a processor other than the Snapdragon 660 found on the Nokia X71 and if there are other differences. We remind you that the Nokia X71 costs 345 euros in Taiwan, offering a package of 6.39 inches FHD +, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB of flash storage and 3500 mAh battery. The rear triple camera is composed of a 48 mpx main sensor, a secondary 8 MPX and a 5 megapixel bokeh capture camera.

Sources in South Korea confirm launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 phablet in two diagonal variants

Among the news I presented yesterday was the post about the online rumor about the likelihood that Samsung will release a "mini" version for the Galaxy Note 10 phablet that comes in the autumn. Today, South Korea's TheBell.co.kr has extra details about these terminals, confirming that the phablet will actually be available in two diagonal variants. The reason Samsung made this decision lies behind the success of the Galaxy S10e in some markets, with the company opting to offer two versions of Notes 10. The mini that might be called Galaxy Note 10e will opt for a triple camera in while the 10th Note 10 (possibly called Note 10+) will have 4 rear photo cameras and a 6.75 inch screen.Today's report does not reveal how diagonal the Notes 10e will be, but to enter the compact segment, we should see a panel under 6 inches. Another reason South Koreans are considering launching this device is that many appreciate the functionality of S-Pen, but not the size of such a phablet Note, so a more compact version is in books.According to TheBell, this mini version of Note 10 will be marketed especially on the European market where the demand for large compact products is apparent.

ASUS ZenFone 6z (IO1WD) appears in GeekBench with 6 GB RAM and Snapdragon 855 processor

A few days away from Wi-Fi certification received by model ASUS_I01WD which is believed to be ASUS ZenFone 6 behold and a listing of Geekbench seems to suggest that we are dealing in reality version ZenFone 6Z - the flagship. Discover this way that the phone brings powerful package octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 855 with 6GB RAM.

From this listing we also find out that the phone runs Android 9.0 Pie OS and factory performance at 3527 points on the single-core test, or 11190 points on the multi-core test. I find it interesting that although we are about a month away from the device's launch, leak sites were almost nonexistent. All we have is a video teaser that reveals the presence of an edge-to-edge display without trimming, allusion to a slider mechanism or a self-pop-up camera. There is also no possibility of a secondary back screen on the theme adopted by the Vivo NEX Dual Display .We look forward to more leaks in the coming period and remind you that your debut is scheduled for May 16th.
