In the firmware of the network adapter chip, every network adapter has a unique MAC address embedded by the manufacturer. Sometimes a user may need to find out or change the MAC address of the network adapter primarily if it is used for Internet access authentication. Some users, for security reasons, opt to hide their MAC address.

With the program, a user can now easily spoof the MAC address. With a few clicks, users will be able to change their MAC addresses. During this operation, it is possible to select a different manufacturer or generate a completely random MAC address. A user can view details about the network adapters (name, GUID, connection type, status), MAC address (current, hardware, spoofed status), and network parameters (DHCP and autoconfig enabled, IP address, mask, gateway, DHCP and DNS servers).

To change the MAC address user need to input a new value and select a manufacturer from the drop-down list, along with the filling method (e.g., entirely random, only random device list). Other options of Change MAC Address let user reset, refresh and look up a MAC address, as well as restart the Internet connection and change the UI language (English or Russian).

The application does not put a strain on system performance, as it runs on a little amount of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and quickly applies the new settings. No error dialogues were shown in our evaluation, and the tool did not hang or crash. Thanks to its general ease of use, even novices can quickly figure out Change MAC Address.
